Liam Cross Live in
north shields
Armed with nothing but his acoustic guitar and a voice rich in nostalgia, Liam delivered a set that really struck a chord. With a voice that carries both warmth and a touch of wistful nostalgia, he immediately set the tone for an intimate and engaging set. There's a timeless quality to Liam’s style, something that feels rooted in classic influences, yet still very much his own. His renditions of classic tracks from artists such as Oasis, Elvis, and Sam Fender were tributes that felt both fresh and faithful. With every note, Liam displayed a raw authentic delivery that showcased exactly why he deserves his spot within the North East music scene.
There’s something undeniably memorable about Liam’s voice. It carries a kind of throwback quality, somewhere between raw and refined, that fits perfectly with his stripped back acoustic sound. Combined with his genuine stage presence and casual charisma, it made for a performance that felt authentic and emotionally resonant.
What stood out most was the cohesion of the entire set. It was clear that this wasn’t just a random list of thrown together songs, this was a well thought out musical journey, carefully tailored to demonstrate his ability and skill with his music. Liam’s natural rapport with the crowd helped shape the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. By the end of his set, the crowd wasn’t ready to let him go. Liam was joined onstage by his friend Nathan and the two launched into a cover of House of the Rising Sun. Despite admitting they had barely rehearsed it, the performance was a highlight of the night: raw, spontaneous, and beautifully executed. The harmonies hit, the energy was right, and the room was fully locked in.
With undeniable talent, a genuine passion for his craft, and the added bonus of being an all round great guy, Liam Cross is definitely a name to watch on the local music scene. Catch him at Playlist, or keep an eye on his socials for upcoming gigs.
