A new wave of musical talent is set to take over Newcastle city centre this week, as Wright Music and Management teams up with MXG Sounds to present Playlist, a high-energy showcase dedicated to celebrating some of the North East’s most exciting unsigned artists.
Taking place on Saturday, August 9th, the event kicks off at 12pm at HMV Newcastle, where shoppers and music fans alike can catch live performances from a wide variety of emerging acts including rappers, singers, guitarists, and more.
Curated to highlight originality and raw potential, Playlist is a creative statement, offering independent artists an opportunity to perform on a prominent public platform.

The lineup includes artists from Leicestershire, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, and beyond, with a mix of genres ranging from UK hip hop and to alt-pop, and indie soul. Each act was selected not only for their talent, but for their unique sound and ability to connect with a live audience.

But the open mic energy doesn’t stop there. At 6pm, the celebration continues with House Party, hosted at HYEM (27 Nile Street, North Shields). Expect good vibes, spontaneous performances, and a strong sense of community.
