Acoustic Heat in Ouseburn: Next Big Thing Arrives
Events
Showcasing the North East’s most exciting emerging acoustic artists
Little Buildings in Ouseburn has long been a heartbeat of Newcastle’s grassroots music scene, a place where emerging artists cut their teeth, find their voice, and build a community around their craft. This February, the venue is taking that mission a step further with the launch of Next Big Thing.
The showcase is presented by Wright Music and Management in partnership with MXG Sounds, following the success of their joint event Playlist last August. The continued collaboration signals a growing commitment to nurturing local talent and creating platforms where emerging artists can shine. The debut acoustic event takes place on 11 February, and the lineup reflects the diversity, talent, and authenticity that Little Buildings has become known for.
All four artists first came to our attention through the open mic nights hosted across the North East by Wright Music and Management. Their growth, commitment, and connection to the scene have made them a natural and essential part of the next chapter in the journey with the Next Big Thing showcases.
The Artists
Grassroots venues like Little Buildings play a vital role in the cultural fabric of the North East. They’re places where artists experiment, audiences discover new favourites, and scenes are built from the ground up. The Next Big Thing acoustic showcase is a celebration of the talent that grows when a community invests in creativity.
For anyone who loves discovering new artists, supporting local music, or simply soaking up the atmosphere of an intimate acoustic night, this event is poised to make its mark on the North East’s thriving grassroots scene.
